Idiots. Obvious clue that they shouldn’t have worried: If it were a real ninja, THEY WOULDN’T HAVE SEEN IT.
If they did see it - it was a pirate disguised as a ninja. Of course he did it on purpose - to show that ninjas aren’t as cool as everyone thought.
