Now my Bamboo works perfectly with my Xubuntu (7.10). This guide gives you everything what you need to do, no more no less. However if you install Bamboo tablet you need to:

  • Download the dev version of the drivers from Linux Wacom Project - older (stable) version is for older Wacom tablets and it doesn’t support Bamboo
  • Change your drivers version (from the filename) - the guide is for 0.7.9-7 - the one I used was 0.7.9-8
  • the drivers work only with 2.6.22-14 kernel release!

    • The last one was very important for me - month ago I upgraded my Ubuntu to one of the alpha releases - they come with new kernel. Unfortunately - the drivers (kernel module to be more specific) doesn’t work properly with new one.
